About the Supra 3.0 Turbo (230 Hp) RWD

The 7M-GTE was the Supra's coming-out party. A single CT26 turbo strapped to a 3.0-liter DOHC inline-six produced 230 hp and 340 Nm — numbers that put the Mk III in direct competition with the Porsche 944 Turbo. The engine had its share of head gasket drama, but when it was running right, it pulled like a locomotive from 3,000 RPM onward. This was the first Supra that could genuinely embarrass European sports cars on their home turf.
