About the Corvette

America's sports car, full stop. The Corvette has been doing one thing since 1953: putting a big V8 behind a long hood and selling it for less than the European competition. For seventy years, that formula hasn't fundamentally changed, even when the engine moved behind the driver. Eight generations, and each one tells you exactly where American performance engineering was at the time. The C2 Sting Ray was sculpted beauty with a 427 big block. The C4 was malaise-era recovery. The C5 put the LS1 in a hydroformed frame and suddenly Corvettes were fast again. The C7 Z06 went supercharged and scared Ferraris. And the C8 finally did what everyone predicted and nobody believed: mid-engine, flat-plane crank Z06, sub-$120k. The Corvette has always been the car that makes European performance look overpriced. On Revnut, the community ranks every generation of the car that proves you don't need a European badge to be a real sports car.
