The last front-engine Corvette, and Chevrolet made sure it went out swinging. The C7 started with the LT1 making 460 hp with direct injection, then layered on the supercharged Z06 at 650 hp and the ZR1 at 755 hp. The ZR1 was the most powerful Corvette ever built and the loudest car on sale in America. It ran a 7:04 Nürburgring lap and cost less than a base 911 Turbo. The C7 was the Corvette that finally gained interior quality to match its performance. Carbon fiber structure, magnetic ride, a removable roof panel. Still front-engine, still pushrod V8, still American.
