About the Corvette C2 Sting Ray
The most beautiful Corvette ever built, and nobody argues. The C2 Sting Ray arrived in 1963 with the split rear window coupe that Bill Mitchell designed as a personal project and Larry Shinoda turned into a production car. Independent rear suspension. Disc brakes. And then the 427 big block arrived and turned it from a GT into a weapon. The split-window '63 is the collector's grail. One year only, because Zora Arkus-Duntov hated the rear visibility. He was right about the engineering. He was wrong about the aesthetics.
