The 4G63T with AYC on the rear axle: 280 hp, 353 Nm, and a chassis that rotated on throttle like a rear-drive car. The Evo IV was the generation where Mitsubishi's rally engineering translated directly to the street. At 1,350 kg it was light for an AWD sedan, and the turbo four spooled fast enough to make the car feel genuinely quick below 5,000 rpm.
