About the Lancer Evolution
The Lancer Evolution was Mitsubishi's rally weapon turned street car. Ten generations between 1992 and 2016, all built on the same premise: turbocharged four-cylinder, all-wheel drive, sedan body, and enough engineering to punch above its weight class on any surface. The 4G63 engine was the heart of the first nine Evos. Iron block, 2.0 liters, twin-scroll turbo, and a tuning community that regularly extracted 500+ hp on stock internals. The Super AYC active yaw control on later models could vector torque across the rear axle mid-corner. The Evo vs. WRX STI rivalry sold magazines, filled forums, and defined what affordable AWD performance meant for two decades. Mitsubishi killed it in 2016. The 4B11T in the Evo X was the last turbocharged four-cylinder performance engine Mitsubishi will ever make.
