The last of the 4G63. The Evo IX got MIVEC variable valve timing on the legendary iron-block turbo four, bumping output to 291 hp with a broader powerband. The MR (Mitsubishi Racing) version added a 6-speed manual, BBS wheels, Bilstein dampers, and aluminum roof. This was the Evo at its most balanced: fast enough to set records, refined enough to commute, and reliable enough to tune to 500 hp without fear.
