Nissan threw away the rulebook. New engine (V6, not inline-six). New drivetrain (dual-clutch, not manual). New name (just GT-R, no Skyline). Purists were furious. Then the R35 posted a 7:29 Nürburgring time out of the box and everyone shut up. The VR38DETT is hand-built by a single technician — each one signs the intake manifold. The dual-clutch gearbox shifts in milliseconds. Launch control hooks up all four tires simultaneously and catapults 1,740 kg to 100 km/h in 2.7 seconds in NISMO trim. Nissan has refined this platform for nearly two decades through annual updates, each one faster and more sophisticated. A technology demonstrator that outlasted entire model generations from other manufacturers.
